Limited Capacity full

This session will focus on Trauma/Adversity and how ongoing and complex trauma and adversity impact the brain’s architecture. This impact causes behaviors that look defiant, disinterested, unfocused and oppositional. We know that all behavior is communication and participants will gain an understanding of the kinds of strategies that can prime the brain for leaning. In addition, strategies will be demonstrated and shared that help youth and adults regulate their emotions. As we learn more and more about our brain, we too, learn more and more about how to build resiliency through these strategies that can be embedded on a daily basis in our classrooms and other settings.
